Staff change

It's true the staff has changed. Dogs stay outside all the time or are in crates. Little supervision outside.

It not the same as when the reviews were written. Caryn the groomer has mover on to Fur Ever Firends and Ann the trainer have mover to The Dude ranch. Same Name different staff.

Finally...I can leave my dog!!

I have a very pampered, high energy, 4 yr old, 7 pound miniature pinscher (Pearl). I never wanted to board her (she is like a family member to me) and for several years I had people come into my home to care for her when I was away. No more! Pearl loves the Critter Cottage. It is a second home to her now, and I make sure I book ahead, so I know she will be all set. I travel often and it is a great relief to know that she is well cared for. I can say that this is like a resort for dogs. They are matched with other playmates according to size, temperament etc. for playtime. Caryn, the groomer, clips Pearl's nails with no problem (before she would have to be muzzled with two people holding her!). Ann, the trainer, enlightened me to the fact that Pearl has trained me! ha. We graduated from class and are doing well, thank you Ann. Annie is fantastic with dogs and service, she spends personal time with each dog, as if it they were her own really. And I love the store with arts, crafts and pet products...nice! This indeed is a home away from home, with someone actually on the property 24/7! I have no hesitation recommending the Critter Cottage to anyone with a dog they love, and I am thankful for the service the Critter Cottage provides!

Home away from home

The Critter Cottage meets every expectation and then some. Having used the services of several local kennels, The Critter Cottage definitely offers something very unique in that it is a true home away from home. Being that they offer boarding, or as they fondly call it "sleep overs", to a variety of breeds, shapes and sizes, each time I take my dog there, I know that he is going to be in good hands because no challenge is to large for the team at The Critter Cottage. I have pulled up on many occasions to him playing in the kiddie pool, playing with friends in the yard that are excellently matched, as well as to him relaxing in the playroom just as he would at home. Kudos to the groomer Caryn at The Critter Cottage as well! My dog always comes home smelling like a dream and she makes cutting his nails a breeze...it saves my husband and myself from having to try to wrestle him to cut them! Check out The Critter Cottage...definitely a diamond in the rough!

From Terrible to Trained!

The expert dog training from the Critter Cottage made a wonderful change in our dogs! We learned to calm the friction between several of them, the best way to teach them to listen and cooperate (with completely positive and gentle training), and our dogs and we even had fun doing it! We would recommend the Critter Cottage training classes (and especially the individual ones) for any dog, but especially the rambunctious and enthusiastic youngsters who need "civilizing". Try them - you won't be disappointed.
